Joel Thompson is an Australian professional rugby league footballer with the Canberra Raiders of the NRL. He plays in the second-row and has represented the Australian Schoolboys in 2006 and played for the Junior Kangaroos in 2007.^[1]

Thompson was stood down from the Raiders squad on 2 February 2009 pending the outcome of an assault allegation.^[2] He returned towards the end of the season and won a starting role.
